I am often asked how or if keto has improved my mental wellness. I had never really thought about it until just over a year ago.
Being generally busy, building a business, my physical health, my family, and constantly trying to learn as much about keto as possible have kept me thinking about other things, rather than only paying attention to the physical aspect of it all.
Once I took the time to consider my overall wellness, I began to notice all of the people who have said that next to physically looking and feeling better on keto, they felt clearer, happier, and more mentally well than they had in a long time; and for some, ever.
Keto Is More Than Just Weight Loss
Keto has had a profound impact on the weight loss industry.
It has guided millions of people to safely control their weight, taking back control of their health. Something that has become more widely talked about is the keto lifestyle’s impact on mental wellness.
The balance between physical fitness and mental wellness is now what people are working towards, and a keto diet has remained at the forefront of this movement.
It was previously thought that there were aspects of keto that could make people unwell. Still, more and more evidence proves that a keto lifestyle improves blood pressure, insulin levels, inflammation, and good cholesterol.
The health benefits have far outweighed the suspicion of health issues related to keto living.
Even recently, as researchers have been studying keto, they have learned the diet also has improved gut health.
A healthy gut (also referred to as our second brain) is the key to better mental wellness and clarity.
So basically, we have lost weight and regained control of our health and how we move through each day, and our mental wellness has become the goal of living our best lives!
Here’s the truth, when I was overweight, I didn’t feel good about myself.
I thought losing weight would improve my life; that was the goal. I was sick and tired of being tired, and I felt like I had lost control over something that seemed so simple – what I ate. When the weight started falling off, I felt really good about that. People noticed, they complimented me, I got to shop for new clothes, and I put myself in a position to help others do the same…what was not to feel good about?
I Feel Better
What I realize now is that it wasn’t entirely physical. I was sleeping better, which meant I was less moody..
My relationships improved. I spent more time outdoors doing things I loved. My body didn’t feel like it was in a constant battle with itself, so I could spend my days more energized – these were all side effects of having a healthier gut.
With all this being said, I feel more motivated than ever to share the healthiest version of myself and how I got here with all of you.
From free meal plans to recipes, from supplements to knowledge about what our bodies need to function at their best.
I will continue to share my journey through keto and my mental wellness with all of you.
This is how keto has improved my mental wellness!

just love everything you do
thank you
Thank you Amy. I fell off the Keto way, restarted and I really can tell the difference.
This was great.
I feel so much better on Keto. But it is like a marriage you can’t cheat or you will put weight back on.
I have lost over 200 pounds. During covid I put 55 back on. (Eating to many carbs)
I am back on strict Keto and thinking more clearly and have energy to burn.
Thank you Amy. I have noticed a difference, I feel happier and my mind does feel clearer. We got off Keto because of moving and life in general. We are back and going to stick with it this time. We both felt so much better when we were doing Keto before.
Thank you for being here and for sharing your story.
