Starting the new year right is a mindset we can all benefit from. While not everyone is a believer of “new year, new me”; I’m sure we can all agree that a new day, a new week or a new year can be the perfect time to start doing some things differently.
If you are new to the keto lifestyle, this can be an opportunity to get off on the right foot. If you are a keto veteran, this can be an opportunity to reevaluate your maintenance. Either way this new year, new day, new week or new month can inspire change or growth – and this is exactly where we should all be!
Start the New Year off Right
Being Consistent.
I know, you’ve heard this a million times. But the truth is, consistency is the key to all of your wins. From weight loss to learning a new language, consistency is what will keep you gaining ground.
Consistency however, comes with some flexibility. Being rigid in your expectations can lead to feelings of failure if you have a few days where you may fall off the progress wagon. Consistency should sound and feel like effort. That’s all, just making an effort to do one or twenty things different today. Your gains will ebb and flow, and that’s okay.
Creating Balance.
There is a lot of discussion around whether balance is even possible or required, but I do believe that we all have our own requirements of what balance can look like. If you accept that you cannot possibly do everything all the time, that’s balance.
Being able to get through today without feeling overwhelmed by family, work, education, workouts, time with friends, pets, and food is the goal. Do they all require equal time or effort? No.
But they can all coexist in your life without feeling like any or all of them are too much to handle. Balance is more of a mindset than an action, if you can be at ease with how you prioritize your time, balance is easier to achieve!
Be a part of a Community.
This is my favorite part of my day, always. This keto community I started years ago on a whim. It was when I was feeling lost during my keto journey. I knew it was working, I knew I was feeling better, I knew my life was improving, but I was afraid I’d run out of steam and return to my old ways. So, I began this community for accountability and to share information so we could all stay interested.
I had no Idea what the impact would be for those starting a new journey, those re-starting their keto journey, or those who wanted help to maintain their health. This keto community has kept ME accountable in so many ways, and I’m so grateful for the individuals who have trusted me…and all of my slip ups and attempts at growth over the years!
The fact that this keto community continues to grow is a true testament to how many of y’all want to do right by yourself …
… whether it’s a new year or not!
So, whether you are a “new year, new me” kind of goal setter, or if you wake up everyday feeling like today is a new start – I’m happy you’re here.
It doesn’t matter if you are a keto expert, a keto beginner, or someone who’s interested and not quite there yet; we are going to make this year count with consistency, balance and our love of community! We want you to feel confident and supported while you commit to taking your health back through food, mindset and community.
Let’s go Ucanketo Family, let’s start this new year right!

p.s. Make sure you’ve downloaded my Keto Guide to help YOU get started (or restart) on your Keto Journey
p.p.s. Did you try the new recipe from last week?? Let me know (here it is again)
Hi Amy,
Thank you for the information. I plan to get back on track after I get over Covid. Do you have any suggestions on how to get back into ketosis quickly.
After recovering, I would definitely encourage getting back to basics and your macros and being sure to incorporate immune rich foods and bone broth too. Hope you feel better soon!
Trying to get back on track, last year was rough with a fall and surgery. Then retired and with not getting around very good I packed back on the 62 lbs I lost. New year, going to get back off and hopefully more cause I sure remember how good I felt not carrying the extra weight. Back to the basics.
I’m about to start my Keto journey, thank you for the encouragement.
I am back in full force!!! I’ve made my meal plans and have prepped a couple of your recipes. exited to start again. Thank you for all you do Amy
Consistency! Time for a tuneup in that department!
I started strict again. Thanks for all your inspiration. I did try the recipe but didn’t use all the hot sauce. It was great though. I’m 100% moving forward! Thanks for all you do.
I appreciate everything you do for all of us. I’ve had numerous injuries last year and at other peoples mercy for food so not a great option. Praying for a injury free year and getting totally back on track!!
I am getting back on track, girl that year on prednisone was not fun at all! Ct scan soon hopefully my lungs ok and I can stay off that stuff! I did stay primarily keto, but eating too many keto snacks add up too! Thanks for all you do!
Happy New Year!
Thank you for always being so positive and encouraging for so very many people 💜
Keep hearing flexible. And right your blog you mention that love your blogd
Amy, I’m setting a “New year, new me” journey and taking it one day at a time. I am always so thankful to see your helpful posts and it’s so nice knowing you will always “be there” when needed. I appreciate you!
Great to be back on track! I did the 3 day kickstart starting the day after Christmas. It’s always what I need to get motivated and back on track. I feel so much better when I’m on keto!
Thanks for everything. Your meal plans are great.
Thank You Amy for all of your positive thoughts and helpful tips!
I have been doing keto since 2018 and it’s the only thing for works for me! I fell off the wagon over a Christmas but jumped right back on and decided not to live with guilt but press forward! Lessons learned, thank you again for being you!!
Have been off Keto for about a year. Had loads of hip pain resulting in 3 surgeries on my right hip from May 10 to July 2. Not able to fix my own food and spent over 2 months in hospital. I have gained 50 pounds of the 115 pounds that I had lost. Trying to get back on track. I need to get this weight back down before I have the next surgery to place a permanent prosthesis in the same hip. I know Keto works but I am really struggling.
Your blog is always so timely Amy. Balance is a struggle for me. Work, home seem to get muddled at times. Thank you for putting things into perspective.
Always hopeful
Thanks 😊
Doing so good thanks to you amazing support 💙💙
Thank you for all that you do!!
Love your blogs. Great info. Thank you!
Thank you Amy for all you do for this group.
Thank you for all the information & encouragement you provide to all of us!
Thank you for your beginning of the year accountability message. I needed every word to a point where I am starting from square one. Stress from this past year has me larger than I was at the beginning of my Keto Journey.
Thank you Amy for all time you invest in helping us all.
