Welcome to our keto family; here are a few tips to act as a guide to you beginning keto lifestyle!
If you’re anything like me, you like two things:
Shopping.
A discount.
This is also something I found to be tricky when I first began my keto journey. I love to shop and was looking forward to doing a kitchen overhaul, but I didn’t know where to start, and I was concerned about the cost.
We Love Costco/Wholesale Shopping!
This is where Costco came into the picture. I quickly realized that buying items in bulk and separating them for the freezer, pantry, or fridge would be my best use of time and money. I spent hours reading labels and second-guessing what I had thrown in my cart.
So, to make things easier for you, here are 15 of the regular Costco items I would purchase to ensure I was always stocked with keto-friendly foods – this is the key to not dipping into non-keto items for snacking. As you know, everything counts!
- Caesar Salad – NO croutons
- Shrimp cocktail (it’s super easy to make your own keto seafood sauce as well)
- Heavy cream
- Chicken skewers
- Pork belly
- Nuts
- Bacon
- Rotisserie chicken
- Real Good Foods bacon-wrapped stuffed chicken (ensure it’s the one without sugar!)
- Blue Moose dips
- Wholly Guacamole Classic
- Blueberries
- Avocados
- Cheese Strings
- Silk Unsweetened Almond Milk
- …..And don’t forget the Ziploc bags!
Now imagine… These are just a few of my go-to’s.
There are many more items (and by many, I mean MANY) that are keto-friendly and worth the little bit of work that goes into separating, freezing, and storing items.
Starting is always the most challenging part, and it’s when most people give up. But this happens because they aren’t prepared, don’t have a support system to encourage them, or don’t have access to resources. I hope that by providing you with all of this FREE information, you can surpass all your health goals!
Meal planning and shopping go hand in hand regarding keto prep.
This can go one of two ways:
1. Stroll through every aisle and choose keto items that you know you like and use, and mix in some items you’d like to try for variety, then plan your menu, or 2. Plan all your meals for the week and shop for what you need to prepare these dishes.
You’ll need to plan to be stocked with high-healthy fat foods, keto-friendly sweeteners, low-carb desserts for those days you feel like you need to satisfy those cravings, keto-safe flours, low-carb breads, keto-fruit, and everything else you’ll need to make this commitment a whole lifestyle!
Either way, the plan is in place – how we will all get there is different – which is what I love about this community! When we all come together to share ideas, recipes, and exciting wins….
We all benefit!
Let’s stay in touch with our keto community so you can stay updated with what works and what doesn’t. The ultimate goal is to support each other to be the healthiest we have ever been.

Thank you Amy for your caring and commitment. Your information is always helpful.
It’s been very hard getting back on keto since my Dad passed away. My daughter has become gluten intolerant so leaning how to eat gluten free in the house is definitely helping me transition back to keto. Thanks so much for the great tips Amy! I’m hoping I can navigate the waters again.
Good morning Amy,
I’m not new to keto but I do shop at BJ’s and do find the same kind of bargains.
Best,
Sharon
We are trying to get back into the swing of things… It’s not been easy

Thank you so much for your time. The information is always helpful.
Thanks Amy- time for me to get back to the basics! 😊❤️
I need to get restarted and I love your Costco list. Don’t have a Costco close so I’m going to take that list to sams
I enjoy all the info and have learned a lot!
Would love to have more one-pot meals
I always appreciate all your encouragement and help ❤️
Hi Amy. Thank you for all your tips and support. I am just going back on keto after a couple year break. Lots of issues caused this but I’m in a better place now
I recently had my gallbladder removed and I’m wondering are there things I need to avoid or add ?
Thank you
I don’t have a gall bladder personally. It’s possible you may need to adjust a few things, but best thing always is to track and see if there’s any difference with how you feel 🙂
Love this beginning guide! Thank you, thank you!
Been living this WOE for six years and I still look forward to your emails and reminders Sweet Amy!! Love this life! and You!
You are so appreciated!
We have no Cosco near us. I wish we did

Always great to see these for beginners, or even people that have been following for a long time, a nice refresher!

I could not get to the beginning Keto Guide because of a ‘funnel’ app kept popping up and kept me from getting the guide 🙁
I do like most everything in your emails.

I am unable to donate info bc of something called click funnels.
You don’t need to donate anything …
Thank you for taking us back to basics. Sometimes we over complicate things which I think makes us quit. It really is simple if we keep it simple. Thanks again for everything.
Hi Amy,
I am happy to see a kick starter blog, I know Keto thanks to you, but after a few disappointing situations that sent me into a meant tail spin I needed this to remind me to get dialed back in.
Thanks
Thanks for post.
