It’s keto smoothie weather, if that is even a thing! If you’re anything like me, warmer weather means more ice-cold fun drinks, and who doesn’t love keto smoothies?

Store Bought Keto Smoothies Are a “No”!

Many store bought smoothies are full of sugars and preservatives, so making them at home has always made the most sense to me. I can add what I want, I can enjoy it when I feel like it, and home-made also means it is not ridiculously priced!

Variety is the Spice of Life

The fun part about smoothies is that you will never run out of variety. You can also add chia seeds for added fibre, you could add nuts, sweetener, coffee, protein, collagen, MCT oil, avocado, or coconut flakes. As long as your choices will keep you in ketosis, you can customize yours in whatever way you choose.

This is a recipe I personally love. It’s simple enough that I can just make it and go, but it also feels like a delicious treat:

Keto Blueberry Cheesecake Keto Smoothies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Almond milk (any milk alternative will work)
  • 2 ounces (¼ cup) Cream Cheese
  • ¼ cup Fresh Blueberries – or any keto friendly berries you prefer
  • 1 scoop Vanilla protein powder (I recommend the one from Perfect Keto)
  • 5-10 drops Liquid Stevia or sweetener of your choice
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 6-7 Ice cubes

Place them all in your blender and mix for around 2 minutes or until it is thick and creamy, pour it into your favorite jar or cup and enjoy, that is it!

Alternatively, for a dairy-free option you can do the same with the following:

Key Lime Pie Keto Smoothies:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of water
  • ½ cup of unsweetened almond milk
  • ¼ cup of raw cashews
  • 1 cup of spinach
  • 2 tablespoons of shredded coconut
  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice

Smoothie’s are a perfect way to get in important nutrients and vitamins, and they are a convenient snack when you are on the go. Many people like to have a smoothie to break their fast when intermittent fasting, and some just love a smoothie as a snack or dessert item.

The goal is always to keep them high in fat and fibre, and low in carbs.

There was a time I thought smoothie’s would not be a healthy option for keto. I was used to sweet smoothies full of sugars, ice cream, high sugar/carb fruit, and in sizes that no person should be drinking!

Little did I know that with some research and consideration, I could make keto smoothies a delicious part of my life again!

Now when I make a smoothie I know I’m putting the best possible ingredients into my body, I am maintaining my weight and my health, and most of all I am enjoying every sip until the very end.

I hope y’all enjoy this keto smoothie season as much as I will! Let me know in the comments if you would like more smoothie recipes, strawberry season is among us!
