Those of you who have been with me for the long haul know, I haven’t always had a hard-core collagen regimen.

I knew it was good for us, but I didn’t realize HOW good. And the truth is, it’s better late than never when incorporating new healthy routines and ingredients into your life!

We are so quick to reach for the latest eye cream when we start to see those crows feet, we’ll reach for an antacid when we have heartburn, we rush to buy the latest shampoo craze when our hair begins to thin – at what point do we put all of this energy into being proactive, rather than reactive?

Collagen makes up around 70% of our Skin, Bones and Connective Tissue.

As we age, our body slowly reduces the amount of natural collagen it produces. This is where the visible aging process sets in. The crows feet, brittle nails, thinning hair and cellulite all become more visible as we age.

Not only does collagen affect our appearance, but it has a huge affect on our gut health as well.

Collagen helps repair bones and joints, it can ease arthritis, reduce inflammation and regulate how our bodies digest all of this wonderful keto food we eat!

Collagen has also been proven to help with brain function, and at this point in time, a clear mind is exactly what I need.

What is Collagen?

The easiest way to explain it is that it’s a protein we already have in our body, it’s literally the glue that holds everything together and It repairs damaged cells.

Why Now With Keto?

Chances are, you weren’t proactive with your collagen supplements. Things like sun exposure, pollution, smoking, alcohol, and sugary foods have all contributed to your decline at this point, so let’s see how much we can reverse by adding supplements NOW? I mean, if I had known in my 20’s what I know now – I would have been all over collagen. But if you’re like me, here we are doing the best we can with what we have!

Weight loss, especially a loss that happens quickly can leave sagging skin.

Supplements will help prevent this, and will help our bodies repair this faster. Any dramatic change in our diets can cause our digestive systems to go a little haywire too, and collagen will help us to remain feeling good while our bodies adjust.

What’s My Collagen Secret?

Well, my secret is that I have no secret.

I love my collagen products so much that I couldn’t even choose just one if I wanted to. There are a few Keto friendly supplements I to support my own collagen needs; take liquid collagen called Trim (sort of like a pudding) that supports weight loss, I have collagen cream and serum, I live for my bone broth (which I’ll save for another blog!), and I have other liquid collagen called Biocell Pure that is used monthly to aid in digestion, hair loss prevention and added energy.

I love to share all of my tips and tricks, we all know I’ve made my share of mistakes along the way. I’m happy to have made them if it means it will save you the hassle! If you haven’t joined my Ucanketo group, come on over!

We have so much to share with you!
