Why do high fiber foods matter on Keto?

Because high fiber foods just matter, period.

While switching from a regular diet to a Keto diet will cause you to just about eliminate what we have been traditionally taught to be high fiber…. like what’s found in whole wheat breads, pasta’s, and cereals – the truth is high fiber foods are easier to digest when they come in the form of vegetables, seeds, and nuts.

High Fiber Foods to Keep us Keto, Clean and Full!

High fiber foods are what keep our “pipes” clean. From our arteries to our digestive system, high fiber foods help regulate our blood sugar, cholesterol, and will make us more ‘regular’ if you know what I mean!

High fiber foods keep us full longer, which is important when we want to curb cravings and prevent falling off the Keto bandwagon and out of ketosis. With all of this goodness, what are the best high fiber Keto foods?

  1. Chia seeds. They may be small in size, but these tiny seeds are full of nutrients. Other than a ton of protein, these seeds are full of fiber and omega-3 fatty acids. Sprinkle them on salads, in smoothies, or make some homemade chia pudding. *recipe is on my Tiktok*
  2. Avocado. Yes, they are not only delicious and full of monounsaturated fats, but they’re full of fiber! The great news is, we already know a ton of different ways to add avocado to our diets! If you are not a fan, avocado oil is virtually tasteless and it’s Keto!
  3. Almonds. These are the world’s most popular nuts, and I think we all know why. But other than being versatile and delicious, almonds are high in protein, vitamin E, magnesium and manganese! Almonds are great in salads, sprinkled on Keto pancakes and just on their own.
  4. Raspberries. Raspberries are okay on Keto, but remember to measure them! Otherwise, enjoy these sweet treats because they’re packed full of fiber, antioxidants and vitamin C. Raspberries are great in chia pudding as well!
  5. Cauliflower. I mean, if cauliflower can become pizza or rice we can give it credit for being high in fiber too. Cauliflower is super versatile, easy to spruce up with spices, and it’s full of fiber, choline and vitamins!

I can’t tell you enough how important this information was for me when I began my Keto journey years ago. I literally lived on Dr. Pepper and Oreo’s, this is not an exaggeration. I had very little knowledge of healthy foods and why my body was so sick, so I am so excited to share this information with you, so you can have the best chance of living a healthier, happier life!

If you are here, you already know you can find more information and recipe’s on Facebook, Instagram and now, Tiktok (I’m new there, don’t judge me!).

Either way, I’m happy you’re here! Make sure to leave a comment if you want to share information about fiber rich foods in our awesome Keto community!
