If you’re like me, you’ve always been surrounded by people who talk about how they want to feel better about their bodies and health. In other circumstances, you may have been surrounded by those who do nothing but complain about their bodies (this was me!).

Both are authentic experiences that are true of most people’s lives. However, I also know it can be hard to take that first step to make healthier choices; trust me, I have been there, and I am still here.

In this post, we’ll explore some ways you can begin to improve your body image today, whether you are keto or not.

Learn How Your Body Works

Learning how your body works is one of the critical aspects of keto, and it can be done by learning about nutrition and reading up on the basics of how food/carbs work in our bodies. It’s also essential to recognize how certain foods affect our moods, energy levels, and general health more than others.

This will help you make better decisions about what to eat when hunger strikes, which will lead us to our next point …

Try New Activities

When we’re bored or unsatisfied with our lives, the solution may be as simple as trying something new.

There are many ways to explore and find something that will make you happy! Try a recent activity or class at the gym, sign up for an art class at a local community center, try some stretches or yoga poses while learning about yourself through meditation, or start keto-cooking regularly from scratch with fresh ingredients (and maybe even invite friends over).

There are so many avenues to create something new; all I know is that watching projects or newfound talents unfold plays an essential part in how we feel about ourselves.

Choose Whole Foods

Eating whole foods is a great way to take care of your body! These foods have not been refined, processed, or stripped of their nutrients. Fruits and vegetables are considered “whole” foods because they have not been altered from their original state.

Fruits like strawberries and blueberries contain antioxidants that help fight free radicals that cause cell damage within our bodies as we get older. Antioxidants also prevent inflammation from developing, so getting enough antioxidants through our diet is essential daily!

And don’t forget about veggies—they are full of vitamins like A & C, which help protect against inflammation & obesity, too!

Build A Strong Support Network

The best way to build a positive body image is by surrounding yourself with people who support you physically and mentally.

THIS is precisely why I began the ucanketo community (and we JUST celebrated our 7-year anniversary!)

If you don’t have someone who will listen to your concerns and offer their support, consider reaching out online or joining a community group like ours that shares similar goals and interests. Even if it’s just for an hour every week, spending time with like-minded individuals who genuinely care about your well-being will help encourage you to keep moving forward.

You may not be able to control how others feel about your body or health, but you can take steps to make yourself feel better and share that with others.

Lastly, here are some Holiday Self-Care Tips you may also find helpful this time of year!

Holiday Self-care tips, improve body image

Ultimately, it’s not just about looking good on the outside; it’s about being healthy and feeling good inside.

And if you’re happy with yourself, then who cares what other people think? Right?

This is how I have been working on how I feel about my body image. I hope it helps you too.
